Deep Fried Calamari
1/2 lb Squids
1 cup All Purpose Flour
1/2 tsp garlic powder (optional)
Oil for flying
Cup the squid sacks in rings. (Before cutting ensure that the squids are clean and washed)
Use a paper towel to dry the cut rings and tentacles.
Mix flour, salt, cayenne pepper and garlic powder in a bowl.
Place a portion of the rings and tentacles in the flour mixture.
Heat oil, and then take the rings and tentacles from the flour mixture and place in the hot oil. Shake off any excess flour from the pieces in the heated oil.
Fry until the rings are golden. Remove from oil and place on a paper towel.
Repeat with the rest of the squid in batches.
Garnish with lemon or lime wedges and serve hot.
